Getting Here
Getting To The Star

It’s easy to get to The Star Whether you're driving or using public transport, you'll find The Star's location easily accessible. You can also try our private coach services or luxury limousines for a greater travel experience.


The Star is located at 80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont NSW 2009.


Take a short walk from Town Hall to The Star over the Pyrmont Bridge. It only takes about 15 minutes.


The Star has bicycle (pushbike) parking facilities via the Pirrama Rd entrance car park located on level P3.

Public Transport

Sydney Light Rail

Take the Sydney Light Rail from Central Railway Station. The light rail departs from Central Station via Darling Harbour to The Star 7 days a week.

Service Frequency

  • Monday to Thursday: every 10 - 15 minutes from 6am to 11pm.
  • Friday: every 10 - 15 minutes from 6am to midnight.
  • Saturday: every 15 to 25 minutes from 6am to midnight.
  • Sunday: every 10 - 15 minutes from 7:30am to 11pm (every 25 minutes from 6 to 7:30am)

Overnight Service Frequency

  • Sunday to Thursday: every 30 minutes from 11pm to 6am.
  • Friday and Saturday: every 30 minutes from midnight to 6am.


Take the State Transit bus service from Circular Quay. The State Transit bus route 443 regularly departs for The Star.


Take the ferry Ferry services operate 7 days a week from Circular Quay and stop at wharves a few minutes' walk from The Star.

Coach & Limousine

Luxury Limousine

If you would like to travel in luxury to and from The Star, book an affordable limousine service with Royale Travel. The luxury limousine sservice is a 24 hour service, so you can plan your trip any day or night. They have a range of sedans, stretch limousines and luxury coaches, either for individuals or larger groups. The Star Express Coach

Disabled Access

The Star provides extensive services for visitors with disabilities.

Car parking

Disabled parking bays are conveniently located close to the car park entrance lobbies. Look for the individually identified bays.

Rest rooms

All rest rooms in The Star offer easy access toilet facilities for those with special needs and disabilities.

Hotel rooms

Please contact Reservations for information about our hotel rooms and apartments that cater for special needs. At the time of booking, please inform our staff of any special requirements.


The Sydney Lyric Theatre is both wheelchair and hearing impaired friendly. For requirements needing an alternative arrangement, please contact theatre bookings on +61 2 9509 3600.



A cloakroom facility is offered as a service to guests of The Star. It's located between the hotel lobby and casino entrance near the parking lifts. Please be reminded that items such as hats, cameras and electronic equipment aren't permitted within the gaming area. We request that you leave them in our cloakroom.

We have everything on offer that meets your convenience, around the clock, located on the ground floor via the Lobby Lounge. 

Important Information

Vehicle's Maximum Height

Our Car Park including Valet Parking is suitable for vehicles under 2.1 meters only and onsite parking for any vehicles over this height is not available. Please see Sydney Fish Market or alternate areas if you have vehicles above the 2.1 meters. Here are our parking rates per 6-hour (or part thereof) periods.

Car Park Upgrade

The Star’s car park is undergoing a significant upgrade until late 2015 to offer you an even better and seamless parking experience. The state-of-the-art makeover includes the addition of exciting new features to improve the traffic flow into and around the car park as well as a modern facelift of existing surfaces and lift lobbies. During this time, circulation will be maintained as best as possible to guarantee minimal disruption. We kindly ask you to adhere to the signage around the car park so that works can be completed and delays in traffic movement avoided.

Works are scheduled to be completed in stages, starting with P5, and will not impact more than 10% of available spaces at any time throughout the upgrade.

  • P5: mid-June to late July

  • P4: late July to mid-September

  • P3: mid-September to late October

  • P2: late October to late November

The Pirrama Rd exit on P3 will be closed from 10pm Sunday 25 October until 2pm Monday 26 October. Please exit the car park via P2 Edward Street.

The car park entry via Pirrama Rd will be closed from 10pm Wednesday 4 November until 2pm Thursday 5 November. Please enter the car park via the P2 Edward Street entry.

Parking Rates

Here are our parking rates per 6-hour (or part thereof) periods.

Between 11pm and 5pm

  • Monday to Thursday: $15
  • Friday to Sunday: $20
  • Public Holiday: $20

Between 5pm and 11pm

  • Monday to Thursday: $20
  • Friday to Sunday: $25
  • Public Holiday: $25

After your 6-hour period expires, an additional 6-hour period will be charged. In the event of a lost ticket, a maximum daily rate of $50 per 24 hours period will apply. ​​

Chauffeured Coaches On Dedicated Routes

What is The Star Express?

The Star Express is a network of chauffeured coaches which operate on dedicated routes between The Star and key suburbs across greater Sydney. Routes operate on scheduled timetables, beginning as early as 7:30 am and departing from The Star as late as 1:00 am.


Who can travel on The Star Express?

Anyone can travel on The Star Express! Regardless of whether it is your first time visiting The Star or if you are a long-term patron, the service is designed to be your most economical, convenient and reliable mode of transportation between The Star and your home. The Star Express ensures you are able to enjoy all that The Star has to offer, without worrying about your return home at the end of your experience.


How much does it cost?

At most, The Star Express costs $10 for a return ticket.

Pearl and Black Absolute Rewards members are eligible to receive a $10 reimbursement. Please swipe your membership card and present your bus ticket upon arrival with acceptable photographic ID at the main gaming floor cashier.

The fare Red Absolute Rewards members and non-members is $10. 


Do I need to reserve a seat?

While it is not necessary to reserve a seat ahead of time, we encourage you to contact The Star Express ahead of pick-up times to reserve your seat by calling 1800 ROYALE (1800 769 253). Note: The Star Express is operated by Royale Limousines on behalf of The Star.

The Star Express strongly recommends reserving seats for groups larger than 6 persons. Group bookings of 15 or more are also available outside of scheduled times.

For Pearl Absolute Rewards member fare reimbursement, upon arrival at The Star simply present your coach ticket, Absolute Rewards membership card and acceptable photo identification at the Main Gaming Floor Cashier to receive $10 cash reimbursement. Note: Your coach ticket is redeemable on the day of issue only. The redemption is limited to one ticket per person per day.


Additional Information

The Star Express services depart from The Star bus interchange, located adjacent to the Light Rail, underneath The Star.

The Star Express coach STAR numbers are clearly displayed on the front and side windows of the coach. Remember to swipe your Absolute Rewards membership card upon entering the coach and be sure to hold on to your return ticket and give it to your chauffeur when you board. ​​​
