HOTEL
With two five-star hotel properties, The Darling and The Star Grand Hotel and Residences, there are opportunities for people with all levels of hotel experience, from seasoned professionals to hotel school graduates.
Opportunities include housekeeping, porter, sales, concierge, valet, reservations, butler, Spa, manager, reception, pool and fitness.
RESTAURANTS
With an all-star cast of chefs, you’ll be working with the best. The culinary line-up includes David Chang of Momofuku, Chase Kojima from Sokyo, Dany Karam from BLACK Bar & Grill and Sydney’s Golden Century.
Opportunities include chef, sommelier, kitchen staff, restaurant manager, wait staff, supervisor and host.
BARS
The Star is a shining light in Sydney’s nightlife scene, boasting an elegant harbour view cocktail lounge, international nightclub, 24-hour sports bar and a live music venue.
Opportunities include bar manager, bar porter, supervisor, host, bartender and cocktail server.
SECURITY
The security team provides customer service and security operations for the entire property including the casino hotel and apartments.
Opportunities include customer liaison officer, security officer and supervisor.
OTHER
Opportunities also come up in departments such as entertainment, facilities, maintenance, operations, human resources, finance, legal and compliance.
GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES
There has never been a more exciting time to join The Star Entertainment Group. We are seeking future leaders to join our expanding Graduate program and are thrilled to be developing a new generation of leaders whose unique strengths, skills and capability support The Star in becoming ‘Australia’s Leading Integrated Resort Company’.
Our 18 month Graduate Leadership Program is aimed at creating a bespoke ‘fast-track’ pathway for people who have recently completed the minimum of an undergraduate program at a recognised university or educational institution.
We will also be introducing a new technical graduate program for those wanting to excel in their chosen field.
WORK EXPERIENCE

The Star Culinary Institute has been created by some of the best in the Chef business, setting a new standard for apprenticeship programs, dedicated to training and mentoring those who will be building the future of cooking.
The Star Culinary Institute provides a dynamic, friendly, and supportive environment for Apprentice Chefs to achieve and excel. We are seeking candidates with a positive outlook, team player mentality, hard working attitude, a natural flair for flavour and ingredients, and an innate understanding that it’s being a chef is a way of life. It’s not just a job.
In return, we provide off-job training developed in consultation with industry experts, and prospects for future work placement at some of AustraliaŹ¼s top culinary and entertainment destinations.
Your apprenticeship will see you undertaking work placement at one of The Star Entertainment Group properties: The Star Sydney, The Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane.
Over the course of a three year program, you will be in the company of fellow students with the same ambition as you. You will be learning cooking methods such as soups, stocks and sauces, butchery, fish-mongery, wood-fired grilling, pasta, pizza, wok cooking, sushi, sashimi, chinese roasts, and pastry & baking.
We aim to provide you with the ingredients for success. When you bring professionalism and a positive attitude, you’ll enjoy learning the first-rate skills you need to make it big in the world of food.
