The Glass Façade and Main Foyer are where the audience enter. As they do, huge glass-panels equipped with LED light-displays can be programmed to welcome them. Once inside, The Main Foyer is the spot for pre-show drinks as the excitement builds. As the Main Foyer opens onto a large, foreshore terrace, it’s also an ideal vantage point for watching the sun set over Sydney Harbour.

The Main Foyer can be transformed into a chill-out zone once your event starts and is also flexible enough to house pop-up bars, food stations and VIP areas.

Case Study: Instyle Women of Style Awards

InStyle Magazine chose to celebrate their annual Women of Style awards at The Star Sydney, recognising leading women in the fields of fashion, beauty, charity, design, environment and more.

TOTAL NO. OF ATTENDEES: 340

WHAT WE DID:

On Thursday 12 May 2016 Australia’s fashion A-list celebrated the nominees and winners of the InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards at a beautifully styled, decadent and utterly glamorous affair at the Event Centre of The Star Sydney.

With a stellar guest list; exceptional cuisine designed by Executive Chef of Sokyo, Chase Kojima; stunning table settings with floral and candle centrepieces; sponsor activations on stage including an Audi car and a Duperrey champagne tower; elaborate gift bags full of goodies including a Clarisonic cleansing device, Georg Jensen key ring, Coach leather clutch, La Prairie skin caviar luxe cream and much more; and two performances by Owl Eyes and Emma Louise - both backed by Aston – this gala dinner had it all!

Pacific Magazines worked closely with Rizer and the team at The Star to ensure a seamless event, that warmly celebrated the award winners, gave credit to all sponsors involved and most importantly emphasised the power of the Instyle brand as Australia’s most prestigious fashion magazine.

SPECIAL TOUCHES:

The event welcomed numerous VIPs including Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop, model Lara Worthington, singer Dannii Minogue, Biggest Loser Australia’s Michelle Bridges, model Robyn Lawley, the matriarch of Australian cooking Margaret Fulton, actress Marta Dusseldorp, Professor Sharon Lewin, Georg Jensen CEO Anne Sullivan, Sunrise‘s Samantha Armytage, Edwina Bartholomew, Natalie Barr and TV personality Sally Obermeder, to name just a few.

VIPs and guests were ushered from the Pirrama Rd entry up to the Event Centre foyer and led onto the red carpet lined with media. Once photos had been snapped, guests were led onto the stage at the front of the Event Centre for an intimate pre dinner cocktail party, overlooking the glamorous table settings which faced the back of the venue. On stage a Duperrey champage tower delighted guests as did a shiny Audi and canapes by Sokyo including Salmon Sashimi with ssamjang and cucumber, and kingfish ceviche with lime miso and crispy potato.

Guests were ushered to their seats on the main floor, as MC Seven News‘ Melissa Doyle took to the stage to introduce the awards, sponsors and VIPs. Award presentations were cleverly timed with beautiful on screen content supporting every nomination.

The delectable, tailored menu was designed by Executive Chef of Sokyo, Chase Kojima and featured alternate serves of warm duck salad or grilled salmon and zucchini salad for entree. Guests dined on Shoi koji toothfish for main or a Wagyu tenderloin with kale, cauliflower and smoked jus. The Star went the extra mile and had high end plates and chopsticks delivered to enhance the dining experience. Three bite-sized desserts were served at the conclusion of the evening, with guests comenting on the spectacular black sesame, caramelised white chocolate and tempered dark chocolate canape.

Highlighting the sponsor contributions was a key feature of the event and unique placement ensured they were noticed; Duperrey Sparkling wine, Vintage Rose Dessert wine and Santa Vittoria were served throughout the eventing; table settings featured scented candles by Scent of Home Melbourne; Estee Lauder amenities were placed in the bathrooms; and the major partnership with Audi was brought to life with an Audi placed on display on Pirrama Rd, lit up with tailored lighting, and on the stage where guests gathered for pre dinner canapes.

EVENT OUTCOME:

The Audi and Instyle Women of Style Awards was a stellar event that shone a spotlight on some of Australia’s most inspiring women. The elegance of the venue, combined with the clever product placement, exceptional audio visual and seamless production ensured the event left a lasting impression on all those who attended.

Located on the rooftop of The Star Sydney with panoramic views over Sydney Harbour and the city skyline, the $100m Event Centre is a multi-purpose venue suitable for a wide variety of events.

COMMENT:

“Thank you to Amanda and the Event Centre team for helping us put on such a spectacular event for the 8th annual Audi and InStyle Women of Style Awards. The venue worked really well for us and you were so accommodating with nothing being an issue as we refined and executed the event. A special thanks to Chase Kojima for the amazing food, it was exceptional and mentioned by so many of our guests on the night. We look forward to working with you all again in 2017”
