My mum, Anna, poured her love into this dish, a tradition born in 1970s Puglia, Italy. Times were tough, but my grandma, Dorina, managed to get a can of beef mince each week, making meatballs to bring us together. Mum left school at 14, finding joy in cooking for her hardworking dad and grandpa and with help from my aunt, she used farm foraged goodies to perfect her lasagna. Sundays were special, filled with her delicious creation. Over the years, she tweaked the recipe, adding her own twists. And now, it's a cherished family tradition, a reminder of love and homemade goodness.
