Adapted from the beloved stories by PL Travers and the original film; the world’s favourite Nanny comes to life on stage in a spectacular and unforgettable production. Co-created by Cameron Mackintosh, with a book by the Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes. The multi-award winning MARY POPPINS has been hailed “Practically perfect in every way” – The Times UK, “An unbeatably splendid evening” – Daily Telegraph, UK and The Daily Express said “This production is a triumph!”.
The original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman include the timeless favourites Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Feed the Birds and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. New songs and additional music and lyrics are by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drew including the now celebrated classics Practically Perfect and Anything Can Happen.
This production of MARY POPPINS has orchestrations by William David Brohn with dance and vocal arrangements by George Stiles. It has a new sound design by Paul Gatehouse and new lighting by Hugh Vanstone and Natasha Katz. Co-choreography is by Stephen Mear. The reimagined set and costume designs are by Bob Crowley. Co-direction and choreography is by Matthew Bourne and direction by Richard Eyre.

If you or someone in your group have a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19, are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have been directed to stay home by NSW health please do not attend your performance. You should continue to stay home and follow government guidelines. We have a flexible ticket policy so that you can rebook your tickets into another performance.

In accordance with NSW Health, it is a requirement that all patrons aged 16+ have received two doses of a COVID-19 Vaccination prior to entry. Proof of vaccination status or valid written medical exemption will be required at entry to the theatre. Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend and do not require vaccination, however must be accompanied by an adult.
CAPACITY LIMITS & SEATING CONFIGURATIONS.
In accordance with NSW Health, the Sydney Lyric will play up to 75% capacity for all performances of Hamilton. There will not be physical distancing within the auditorium, and you will have patrons sitting directly next to, in front of, and behind you.
MASKS ARE MANDATORY FOR AGES 12 AND UP.
Masks are mandatory at all times in the theatre for those aged 12+. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one free of charge. If you have an exemption from wearing a mask, you will be required to present this to our staff prior to entry.
VENUE CHECK-IN REQUIRED FOR ENTRY.
Before entering, you will be required to register using the Service NSW QR code. Please have the latest version of the Service NSW app downloaded on your phone.
THEATRE LEVEL DIVISON.
To assist in ensuring that we limit exposure between groups, the theatre will be divided into two groups: Stalls, and Dress Circle & Grand Circle. On arrival to the theatre, you will be asked what level your tickets are on and asked to join the appropriate entry queue. Once inside, you cannot cross over with the alternate area. Please be familiar with your seat allocation prior to arrival.
Our foyers will open 1 hour prior to the start of the show and you will have a specified arrival window. Please help us by arriving at the theatre at your specified time. See our arrival times here.
Our auditorium doors will open 45 minutes prior to show time to allow plenty of time for you to move safely to your seat. Once you have purchased food & beverage, merchandise and visited the restrooms, we ask that you move swiftly to your seat to avoid crowding in the foyers.
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE WHEN QUEUING & MOVING.
To assist with social distancing, we strongly encourage you to stay in your allocated seat unless you are purchasing food & beverage, merchandise or using the restrooms, in which case we ask you purchase your items and then move back to your allocated seat as soon as possible. When you move around the theatre foyers please ensure that you keep your distance from other patrons and follow the signs and the directions of our theatre team.
At this time, it is not safe to offer cloakroom services. Therefore, please only bring handbags and satchels that are smaller than an A4 piece of paper to the theatre.
Theatre and auditorium bars will be open, however as consumption of food or beverage whilst standing is prohibited, you will be asked to purchase your items and make your way to your seats before you can consume them. The momentary removal of masks for consumption of food & beverage is permitted.
All of our outlets are cashless, and we can only accept contactless payments at our bars, box office and merchandise shops.
AT THE END OF THE SHOW.
At the end of the performance, we will be exiting the auditorium row by row. Once you have exited the theatre, we ask that you promptly move away from the exits to ensure others can exit without congestion.
SANITISE, SANITISE, SANITISE.
We will have hand sanitising stations located at several points of the theatre for your use. Please make sure to use these regularly during your visit.
Our theatre foyers and auditorium receive a professional deep clean after every performance, and our professional cleaning staff will remain on site throughout the performance to constantly clean washrooms, touchpoints and high traffic areas.
COVID MARSHALS ARE THERE TO HELP.
Our COVID marshals and ushers will be onsite throughout the event to monitor everyone’s safety, and to assist you in any way they can. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please speak to one of our friendly staff who will assist you.
