Sydney FC secure The Star as new Principal Partner

Hyundai A-League Champions Sydney FC and The Star Sydney have signed an agreement for the five-star luxury hotel and entertainment complex to become the Sky Blues new principal partner.

The two year deal will see The Star Sydney’s logo appear on the front of Sydney FC’s home, away and alternative strips as Graham Arnold’s men look to defend their double Championship and Premiership titles.

The Sky Blues will also bear the name on their Westfield FFA Cup shirts when they take part in their second consecutive FFA Cup Final next month.

Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow said: “I am delighted to be announcing this partnership and to be welcoming The Star Sydney into the Sky Blues family for the next two years.

“The Star is a premium and iconic brand which aligns well with Australia’s premier football club.

“At Sydney FC we strive for excellence and our aim is to entertain with first class performances on and off the field. These are goals which are central to The Star Sydney as a world class entertainment complex.

“We are confident this is the beginning of a very special relationship and we look forward to a long and valued partnership.”

Sydney FC would also like to recognise the contribution made by Webjet the club’s previous principal partner, with Chairman Scott Barlow thanking the company for their support.

“We have had an excellent relationship with Webjet, who have supported us in the Hyundai A-League over the last five seasons, and we look forward to forging a similar rapport with The Star,” he said.

The Sydney FC and The Star partnership begins immediately with the logo featuring on the club’s shirt in Saturday’s first Sydney Derby of the season against Western Sydney Wanderers.

The game will be broadcast by Fox Sports and for the first time on free to air TV station Network TEN.
