The Star Event Centre

Event Centre

LOCATED ON THE ROOFTOP OF THE STAR, THE STAR EVENT CENTRE IS A $100 MILLION MULTI-PURPOSE VENUE SUITABLE FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF EVENTS.

In 2015 and 2016, The Star Event Centre won the Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) National Award for Best Specialty Event Venue, and the State Award for Best In-house Audio Visual.

ROOMS, SPACES & CONFIGURATION

It can be reconfigured to suit 20 guests for a meeting to 960 for a banquet style dinner or 3,000 for a cocktail or theatre style event. The main floor on Level 3 can be split into two separate rooms with a capacity of approximately 500 and 800, respectively. In addition, the balcony on Level 5 offers tiered theatre style seating for up to 981 guests. The foyer has the ability to cater for pre-drinks and canapés before guests enter the main room with its impressive 12 metre ceilings that enable the creation of spectacular productions.

TRADITIONAL MEETING ROOM

Just off the Event Centre foyer is a traditional meeting room, the Attic, perfect for smaller meetings or as a breakout space for up to 100 guests theatre style. Alternatively, it can be used as a meet and greet, secretariat, satchel packing space or media room. In addition, The Star Event Centre is well equipped with eight dressing/green rooms to accommodate your entertainers and crew requirements.

The Star Event Centre challenges the pre-conceived idea of event cuisine. Every meal is created using the finest produce. Taking advantage of our team’s diverse cultures, experiences and trainings, we focus on the smallest details. We ensure the banqueting experience is nothing less than five-star restaurant quality

AUDIO-VISUAL, BROADCAST AND TECHNOLOGY

The Event Centre offers a fully integrated audio-visual, lighting and production system. It is one of the most technologically advanced venues with a state-of the-art sound system that is revered as one of the best in Australia. In addition, the venue boasts outside broadcast capability with high speed fibre links on-site, so it is possible to broadcast to or from anywhere in the world. The dedicated technical department at The Star Event Centre has extensive knowledge in show production, entertainment and event design, making it the venue of choice for some of Australia’s A-list events including the ARIA Awards and the AACTA Awards.

Marquee Sydney

New York, Las Vegas and now Sydney, Marquee is one of the most successful nightclub brands in the world.

 

Marquee is located on the top tier of The Star, commanding expansive views of iconic Sydney Harbour and the city skyline. With over 1,800 square metres of floor space and three distinct spaces within one venue, the club has the ability to cater for different tastes and moods. Designed like no other entertainment venue in Australia, Marquee is a versatile, music-centric space that can tailor itself for your event.

MAIN ROOM

 

The Main Room features a nine metre projection stage with an LED DJ booth and dance floor.

 

It has a large circular bar, with over one kilometre of LED strip lighting adorning the ceiling; and a large outdoor patio. The lighting system also features laser, strobe and smoke technology for the ultimate experience.

 

From product launches, networking and cocktail events alongside The Star Event Centre, Marquee can host up to 1,400 guests across the full venue including Main Room, Boom Box and The Library. Offering completely customised packages, this is the ideal venue for your next cocktail event.

 

 

BOOM BOX AND THE LIBRARY

 

Marquee Boom Box can be utilised as a separate event space to the Main Room. It makes up just over one third of The Star’s Pirrama Road harbourside entrance, with views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

 

Boom Box has a capacity of 400 guests and is complete with a standalone bar, its very own DJ booth, a state-of-the-art sound system, an intimate dance floor and an outdoor patio.

 

The Library has a capacity of 100 guests, offering an exclusive lounge or cocktail experience, with a working fireplace, private bar and unparalleled views over Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

Rock Lily

A live music venue perfect for an event with a DJ or band performance. Whether it is an international act or a local band, take advantage of this acoustic venue. Rock Lily features an eclectic mix of new, vintage, wooden interiors, concrete floors and converted Cadillac booths. There's also a jukebox and a photo booth in the Rock Lily Pit.

 

Available for your selection is a variety of canapés and beverages catered specifically for your event. Rock Lily caters for up to 240 guests cocktail style with a mix of lounge and cocktail seating, with access to the venue through the main casino floor.

BLACK Bar & Grill

BLACK Bar & Grill perfectly marries a contemporary Australian grill with a stylish wine bar and million dollar views of Sydney Harbour and the city. Chef Dany Karam creates classically inspired menus influenced by the great American grills and contemporary European cuisine.

 

The main restaurant dining room is sleek and streamlined, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Liberal use of marble, warm timber tones, flattering lighting and copper highlights create an inviting ambiance to engage the senses.

 

The restaurant is perfect for a dining experience for 60 to 100 guests seated in the main dining room or a cocktail event for up to 200 guests. The private dining room has separate access from the retail arcade and offers one oval table for 26 guests. It is completely enclosed, providing your group with an exclusive setting for a private meeting or dinner.

 

Whether it’s a cocktail party, private corporate function, exclusive dinner or awards ceremony, BLACK Bar & Grill can accommodate and create bespoke menus for your upcoming event.

Sokyo

Award-winning chef Chase Kojima draws on his Japanese training to create an impeccable union of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary flavours that are sure to delight your guests. Sokyo features slick black polished wood, dark modern tones and fish scale textures.
This hyper-modern Japanese theme is carried through to oversized anime graphics placed over the main bar.

 

Sokyo is located within the lobby of The Darling hotel and is the ideal venue for a private dining experience for up to 100 guests in the main dining room. For exclusive use of Sokyo, pre-event canapés may be served around the stunning lounge and bar area prior to moving through to the main dining room to be seated.

 

The private dining room, complete with its design features, reflects a modern interpretation of Japan.

 

The room caters for up to 50 guests at restaurant round tables or 40 guests theatre style. Sokyo also offers a Japanese influenced breakfast, perfect for a small morning meeting.
