The Star confirms Australia-wide vision for luxury hotels

The Star Entertainment Group has today reiterated its vision to be Australia’s best integrated resort operator, offering unprecedented luxurious experiences across its three Australian properties, The Star Sydney, Jupiters Gold Coast and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane (formerly Treasury).

John Autelitano, General Manager of Hotels at The Star Sydney, explained how the Group intends to achieve this vision by investing in products, services and staff.

“To achieve our ambitious goals, we have to set impeccable standards to embrace clearly defined and relevant values, and ensure gold-star delivery through our property offerings and guest services.

“We’re undergoing both physical and cultural transformations. At The Star Sydney, we’re investing $500 million over the next five years; while Jupiters on the Gold Coast is in the midst of adding to its offering, undergoing a $345 million investment which will see the property rebrand to The Star Gold Coast later this year. We’re also rolling out a new training program called Star Quality to our 8,000 employees, across all three properties, to enhance the customer experience,” said Mr Autelitano.

Mr Autelitano further outlined The Star Sydney’s Phase 1 expansion plans that are underway, including the $130 million refurbishment of Astral Tower and Residences, to be completed in 2016. The new hotel will offer contemporary opulence with high end suites, a lavish lobby lounge, state-of-the-art club lounge, new meeting rooms and a comprehensive business centre.

In Queensland, a recent $75 million refurbishment of Jupiter’s existing hotel has seen the unveiling of the first Superior Deluxe Rooms and completion of the Executive Levels including Penthouse, lavish Suites and Executive Deluxe Rooms. Jupiters has also launched a new poolside experience complete with exclusive bungalows and private spas, cabanas overlooking the pool, and a poolside bar. Plus three new dining experiences have opened, including Kiyomi by renowned Chef Chase Kojima, Cucina Vivo and the Garden Kitchen & Bar – Jupiters’ largest restaurant offering seating 350 guests.

“Jupiters continues to play an integral role in making the Gold Coast a must-visit destination, with ongoing developments heralding a new era for the property in providing new standards of excellence across all guest services,” said Mr Autelitano.

Jupiters is also set to welcome the first six-star hotel to be built on the Gold Coast in more than 15 years. Construction is underway, with the new tower set to offer guests 17 storeys of luxurious spacious suites with the finest finishes and amenities, true six-star service, exciting new signature restaurants and bars, and high-end exclusive lounge bar overlooking the infinity edge pool.

The six star tower is expected to be fully operational prior to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and promises to enhance the Gold Coast’s reputation as one of the world’s top tourist destinations.

Mr Autelitano revealed these plans and vision for The Star Entertainment Group at a press conference at Luxperience, the luxury travel and tourism tradeshow at the Australian Technology Park on 19 September 2016.
