The Star Sydney is proud to announce that the biggest names in darts will compete in the 2016 Ladbrokes Sydney Darts Masters at The Star Event Centre from Thursday,18 August to Saturday, 20 August 2016.
Returning to Australia as part of the 2016 World Series of Darts, the 16-player tournament will see the world’s best players go dart to dart with Oceania’s top stars over three thrilling days.
Australian darts fans are invited to watch three-time champion and arguably the best darts player of all time Phil “The Power” Taylor defend his title against rivals including World Champion Gary “The Flying Scotsman” Anderson and current world number one Michael “Mighty Mike” van Gerwen.
Former World Champions Raymond “Barney” van Barneveld and Adrian “Jackpot” Lewis, colourful Peter “Snakebite” Wright and Dave “Chizzy” Chisnall and multiple major champion James “The Machine” Wade will also be in action alongside local, national and international players who include top-ranked Australians Simon “The Wizard” Whitlock and Kyle “The Original” Anderson.
The atmosphere at The Star Event Centre will be electric when the tournament kicks off on Thursday, 18 August with the quarter-finals taking place on Friday, 19 August before the tournament concludes with the semi-finals and final on Saturday, 20 August.
The Star is delighted to see the rise in profile of professional darts in Australia in recent years and is excited to host fans at this fantastic social and sporting event at The Star Event Centre.
The Ladbrokes Sydney Darts Masters will be the fifth tournament of the 2016 World Series of Darts, following events in Dubai, Auckland, Shanghai and Tokyo, before the stars travel across Australia.
