The Star Gold Coast remains focused on investing in the creation of a world-class integrated resort.
The initial transformation, currently underway, includes the refurbishment of the existing five-star hotel and construction of a new luxury suite hotel, providing increased food and beverage offerings and revitalised gaming facilities. These works are scheduled to be completed in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Adding to the excitement of the current development is the addition of a new 53-storey hotel and apartment tower on Broadbeach Island.
The hotel and apartment tower is part of a joint venture with partners Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium and takes the property’s total transformation to a combined investment worth up to $850 million.
Construction will commence pending satisfactory apartment pre-sales with an anticipated build time of around 36 months, providing various procurement opportunities over the course of its build and once operational.

The Star Gold Coast’s proposed master plan concept provides for future development options in what could potentially be a multi-billion dollar investment in the City.
The concept includes:
- Up to five hotels and/or apartment buildings
- A world-class recreational deck with water features
- Tropical gardens, pools and spa
- New entertainment facilities
The master plan ultimately aims to create a seamless flow of phased developments, to provide the ultimate dining, retail, recreation and gaming experiences on the Gold Coast.
It also looks at ways to enhance the connection of Broadbeach Island with other major local landmarks such as Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and the surrounding Broadbeach precinct.
The already approved hotel and apartment tower is just one phase of the master plan concept, and forms part of a joint venture partnership with Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium.
More information about procurement opportunities and the process for potential suppliers to register their interest and/or apply for this stage of the master plan concept, and future stages, will become available in due course.
