The Star’s Entertainment Department is a creative, full-service production facility. It specialises in audio-visual, technology and creative services for meetings, conferences, shows and special events.

Their job is to plan and implement the best in scenic, lighting, audio and video systems for your event. They can also assist you with sourcing and selecting entertainment talent, to further bring your ideas to life.

Before you book your event, your Star Event Planner will arrange a meeting with our Entertainment Department. Once your event has been confirmed you will be introduced to a Technical Services Manager who will help develop your event concepts to ‘wow’ your attendees. You will also be provided with a full operations manual.

The Star’s Entertainment Department can add pizzazz to your event by working closely with the Food & Beverage department to deliver a fully themed, holistic event. Popular themes tend to be historical, cultural or fantasy-based, but we can accommodate any vision you may have in mind.

Thanks to a combination of world-class equipment and an intimate knowledge of all of the facilities that the Events Centre has to offer, our team are well positioned to guide you through the many lighting and music options available.
Photography & Videography
Naturally, when you’re throwing an amazing event you want to ensure those special moments are properly captured. Whether you require a professional photographer to make sure your event gets into the business or social pages, or you need to provide your client with incredible images or video of their event after the fact, we can help.
The Event Centre stage is concert-sized (19m x 10m) and ideal for gigs, parties, shows, gala dinners, special events, and conferences. It has multiple entry points, varied camera positions, built-in sound, lighting, and visual equipment. There is also a stock of portable platforms available that allow for different staging requirements.
The Event Centre has been designed to suit a variety of event types with several different features, such as adjustable walls, increasing the functionality of the space.
Audio Visual Equipment
The Event Centre’s audio-visual and technical capabilities are state-of-the-art and are flexible enough to meet the demands of different events and formats.
The Main Room in the Event Centre can accommodate 76 2m x 2m booths. The Main Foyer is designed to comfortably house eleven exhibitor booths of the same size, while the large foreshore terrace can hold a further 33 booths.
The branding opportunities at The Star’s Event Centre are unlimited. We can light up the entire Event Centre to truly personalise the event experience for your guests.
Communication & Internet
The Event Centre’s communication and Internet systems are equipped to service meetings, conventions and exhibitions with ease. We also offer cutting-edge digital solutions tailored to awards ceremonies, concerts, sporting events, parties and shows.
The Entertainment Department can advise and help you book guest speakers, presenters, and panellists. Upon arrival, your guest speaker will be accommodated in a professional and comfortable Green Room or Speaker Preparation Room.
Sense of Arrival
Whether your guests are arriving as a group on a boat from The Star’s private wharf, or individually under their own steam, your Star Event Planner can help ensure their arrival is seamless.
Pre- and Post-Function Venues
As your guests arrive, they can ease into your event in one of our pre-function venues. Recommended areas include The Foyer, Room C, the Rooftop, Bistro 80 and Marquee. There are also other spaces available in The Star and venues located outside the precinct, which can be accessed via a short walk or boat ride.
Your Star Event Planner
In the lead up to your event, you will be assigned an Event Executive. They will be your main point of contact, assisting you with every element of your event planning. They will also be your liaison between other areas of The Star, including marketing, entertainment, AV, accommodation, and culinary.
We have full load-in and load-out facilities where equipment and supplies can be delivered for your event for your convenience. This is via our Event Centre Loading Dock. Please enquire for hours of operation and weight/height restrictions.
Please be aware that if large amounts of waste are generated, either by your event or by loading in and out of deliveries via our Event Centre Loading Dock, then extra waste removal charges may apply.
All Event Centre facilities are kept in a clean, well-maintained condition at all times. Staff cleaners are on hand to make sure that all public areas that you are utilising for your event stay clean and tidy throughout. Rooms are also refreshed during breaks between sessions. If you have any specific cleaning needs please discuss these with your Event Executive.
Should any items be left onsite unattended and discovered by the Event Centre team they will be transferred to Lost Property within 24 hours and your Star Event Planner will be notified. Please contact your Event Executive should you discover that you are missing any items during or after your event.
The Event Centre has a team of professional ushers who can ensure your event runs smoothly by seeing that guests are politely directed to the right areas at the right times. We can provide support staff both from main entry points of The Star, including the light rail stop and car park, as well as within the Event Centre itself.
You’ll never have to worry about security issues at the Event Centre. We have a full-time team of highly professional security staff. The Event Centre has a team of security officers and supervisors who are on-call 24 hours a day.
For the convenience of our guests, a cloakroom operates 24 hours a day within The Star, located on the ground floor. You can also arrange for a separate cloakroom within the Event Centre. Please discuss this with your Event Executive if needed.
