Partnerships


The Star is proud to embrace our local communities and celebrate diversity with a number of exciting partnerships. Throughout the year we have collaborated, sponsored and participated in a number of spectacular events including festivals, sports, charities and more.

In 2019 The Star signed a new four-year Principal Partnership with Sydney FC, continuing the already successful two-year partnership which has seen the Sky Blues win the Hyundai A-League Championship and Premiership, as well as the FFA Cup, while Sydney FC’s Westfield W-League squad won the Championship in the first season of The Star appearing on their front of shirt.

The Star will continue to hold high profile Sydney FC events such as the Sky Blue Ball and Foundation Dinner and 24/7 Sports Bar remains the Sky Blues official Home Away From Home.

NSW Rugby League

In 2015 The Star became an Official Partner of the NSW Rugby League and the Official Home of the NSW Blues. The Star supports the ever-expanding Blatchys Blues fan group and has become the Blatchys Blues’ Official Home. For fans who can’t get to the game 24/7 Sports Bar provides a great atmosphere with giant LED megascreens and former NSW Blues players in attendance. The NSW Rugby League host a number of key events at The Star, including the True Blues dinner, NSW Blues team announcement and Brad Fittler Medal.

Sydney Swans

The Star is an Associate Partner, supporting the Sydney Swans since 2013. The Star hosts key Sydney Swans events, including the Sydney Swans Guernsey Presentation and Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and the Sydney Swans Club Champion Dinner. The Star, supporting the Swans onwards to victory!

Sydney Chinese New Year

In 2013 The Star became a Leadership Partner of the City of Sydney’s Lunar New Year Festival, the largest such festival outside of mainland China. The Star has participated in a number of spectacular events over the years, including the Lunar New Year Twilight Parade with our own float, the Dragon Boat Races on Darling Harbour and a line-up of on-property entertainment.

In 2016 The Star delivered a Fortune Mahjong Garden in Martin Place and was the presenting partner to the Ox Lunar Lantern.

Australian Turf Club

The Star is proud to be a Foundation Partner and the Official Entertainment Partner of the Australian Turf Club. The Star's partnership with the Australian Turf Club includes two feature races on the Royal Randwick calendar - The Star Doncaster Mile, run as part of The Championships in autumn and also plays part in the world's richest race on turf - The Everest as an official slot holder and race sponsor of The Star Mile.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

The Star Sydney has continued its support of Australia’s LGBTIQ community in becoming an Official Supporter of the 2016 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. For the first time in many years, The Star Sydney produced a float for the Mardi Gras parade, featuring up to 100 staff members, celebrating the diversity of The Star’s workforce and guests. As part of 2019 Mardi Gras festivities, The Star transformed The Darling revolving doors into a rainbow entrance which welcomed every individual to share their loudest and proudest moments with us.

The Star is a gold corporate partner of the Sony Foundation – a charitable arm of the Sony Group of Companies whose mission is to capitalise on the unique qualities of Sony and contribute to the advancements of the Australian community by assisting youth and fostering their talents.
