Since its relaunch in September 2011 The Star has hosted a variety of events, from opening celebrations, retail shopping nights and cross-property parties. Here’s a taste of the stories so far.
Korean Pop sensation Psy, who has created a “Gangnam Style” obsession across the globe with his hit single and trademark dance moves performed his only Australian show at Marquee Sydney.
The opening of new Cantonese restaurant, The Century, took place on Sunday, 22 July 2012. With over 200 Sydneysiders experiencing the vibrant dining destination.
The Star hosted its second "night of fashion" on Thursday, 12 July 2012, featuring viewings from our retailers. The evening included a fashion parade, with in-store offers and complimentary goodies for those shoppers attending.
The Star’s newest nightlife venue, Marquee, opened its doors in late March 2012 to international celebrities and over 1000 party-goers. The A-List celebs enjoying the night included the likes of Paris Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama, Nick and Vanessa Lachey and Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash.
The Star celebrated its first Melbourne Cup across its newly developed bars Rock Lily, 24/7 Sports Bar and Cherry, and signature dining locations Balla and BLACK by ezard.
Adriano Zumbo opened his long awaited Patisserie in the Café Court of The Star Wednesday, 12 October 2011. The patisserie was designed to complement Adriano’s cooking style, which is well-known for being unique in concept and execution.
The Star’s $870-million redeveloped premium entertainment destination opened on 15 September 2011, with Australian celebrities Olivia Newton-John and Russell Crowe on hand to help launch the spectacular opening ceremony.
